Skilled Education Versus Certificates/Degrees

Is an Educational Certificate proof of an individual’s talent or skills? Certificates may not define a person’s abilities. They show that a person has graduated from a course or has passed a test. Nothing, more than that. But in today’s world, things are quite opposite where, the degrees are more preferred than knowledge, marks are more important than skills, and grades are like God blessings for your success in the world. Today, if we notice the world’s top universities and colleges then we can easily find that if your percentage is not more than 90%, you are not even eligible to apply for studies there. And also in the same world if you notice the top companies’ founders and owners then you will find that they were either dropouts or poor grade students. So where are we lacking? Why aren’t the degree holders not enough skilled to be recruited by the world’s top recruiters? Why the world’s top recruiters only say that they don’t get enough skilled employees for their companies? Because today’s education system is more focused upon the marks, grades, or percentages in the degrees, not the real knowledge which makes the students more skilled to work much better. The main problem is today’s education system which focuses more on testing your learning power that is, your memory than your ability and skills.

Today’s students are focusing more on how to secure more marks and make their degrees and certificates more impressive as the grades define their intelligence. The main problem is that grades have become the criteria to define or to judge someone's intelligence and that’s where the whole thing is going wrong in today’s education system. No one is focusing to make their students learn in a manner that helps them to understand things or topic in a better manner but they are busy in focusing on their students in a way which makes them able to secure more marks than others. The whole education system is like this except few which can be easily counted on the fingers of one hand. And this is the main reason why many companies have changed their policies for recruiting their employees. Now they are recruiting the ones who have skills for the designated post in comparison to those who have more grades in their degrees. Now the world is changing, maybe slowly but at least changing. Today’s skills are more important than the grades in your degree for getting recruited in the best companies. Now you don’t achieve success if you have a degree but when you have skills also. A degree is still an initial requirement for getting eligible for any post but it is not a guarantee for anyone to be selected for the designated post. If you don’t have skills than all the certificates and degrees are nothing more than sheets of paper. But still, it is a long way to go, for the transformation of all the education systems to provide better knowledge which makes one skilled in his field rather than just to hold another degree.
