Affiliate Marketing And The Big 3 Tools Of The Trade!

 Many new bloggers are overwhelmed with the number of choices they have when it comes to choosing a topic for their blog. The most common question asked is "What kind of blog should I start?" Some people will tell you that you need to focus on one specific area, while others say you can create your unique style.

The truth is that both methods are correct! If you're stuck trying to figure out what you should do, then follow these steps:

1 . Pick Your Passion -

It's very important to pick something that excites you. Just make sure whatever it is isn't illegal or against any moral code (i.e pornography). You don't want to spend hours per day doing something only to find yourself hating every minute of it.

2 . Find A Niche -

Once you're passionate about your subject, it's time to find a niche! That means narrowing down your topic to something very specific. For example, take the topic of 'picking up women'. You could probably narrow that down to just young college girls or even just blondes that are named Brittany (weird I know).

3 . Decide What Platform To Use -

Now comes the fun part. If you want to create an interactive blog with e-mail feedback forms and all sorts of bells and whistles, then WordPress might be right for you. If you simply want to create text posts now and then, then Tumblr would be perfect for you. We'll cover more on this later.

Let's look at an example: Let's say we want to create a blog about the Pittsburgh Steelers. We found out that our passion is football and we already know that we want to start a blog, so here are the steps:

1 . Passion - Football (Pittsburgh Steelers)

2 . Niche - Focus on something very specific like Top 5 draft picks by year for this team or even what free agents they signed in the offseason. You could even narrow it down further and talk specifically about how their offense or defense will fair during this season.

  3 . Platform And Schedule -

If we wanted to make sure we put up content every single day, then Tumblr would be perfect for us! We could post short videos and images daily, but it wouldn't make sense to have readers submit their blog posts. WordPress would be the best solution since we could get an amazing plugin that allows our readers to submit their blog posts and then we can approve them before they're put up on our site.

Affiliate Marketing

If you're a new blogger you're probably wondering how monetizing your site will work. Thankfully, there is a very easy way to do this without having your users click any ads or anything like that! Affiliate marketing is one of the top ways for bloggers to earn money from their sites quickly and easily. It's not too difficult either:

1 .   Choose An Affiliate Network -

There are tons of affiliate networks out there, but my personal favorite is Amazon Associates. The reason I like them the most is that they have almost everything anyone would need to start making money with their site (books, music, DVDs, etc).

2 .    Find An Affiliate Product -

This part takes some time and it's where most people fail at this process. They either don't do enough research or go for the wrong products. Take some time and think about what people might be searching for in Google (ex: books on blogging), then type that into Amazon's search bar to see what you get. Look at the top 5 results and then I would check out just one more product that isn't on the first page of Google Results. You want to find a product that has a decent number of reviews (at least 50 - 100) and that isn't priced too high.

3 .    Get Your Link Ready -

Once you find your product, go to Amazon's website with the specific item in mind. Look at their price then look for another link that only shows the URL. You might have to click the little arrow on the right where it says 'Amazon' next to it to get this link. Once you have this, just upload it into WordPress or Tumblr when you're ready to start publishing!
